Marie Abu-Dayyeh Woodard , after receiving her degree in Business,
worked for a few years before having two children. Once they were born, she
stayed home for awhile and during that time, went back to school to earn
her teaching credential. She has worked 4 years as a junior high school,
History teacher. Since our moving to Oak View, Marie has once again quit
working to stay at home with her children and intends to go back to teaching
when they are older. Joe Acosta lives in the Torrance area with his wife Brenda and two
dogs (no kids/no hurry). He graduated from UCSD and worked for years in
software/high tech industry before switching to his current career in
digital/cable television. Pat Adkisson worked for Nordstrom's for 15 years, moved on to Andersen
Consulting (where he lived in a plane and in airports) before recently accepting
a Director position for a new AT&T wireless affiliate for the southern
region. Pat now lives in Tennessee and can be reached via Nora Alonto was laid off (with a great severance package) from American
Savings Bank/Washington Mutual where she had worked for 14 1/2 years as an
Admin Assistant. . She has decided to return to college and work towards
her teaching/social work credential. Divorced and the mother of two beautiful
daughters 11 and 15 ,she is active at their schools, serving on numerous
councils and advisory committees as well as being a "Mentor Parent" at Stockton
Unified School District. She gives "Parenting Workshops" for the school district
and hopes to get parents involved in their children's education and daily
life. Nora also enjoys traveling (especially to the
ocean). Nancy Alpert earned her Masters of Social Welfare in Gerontology and
is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has worked 11 years
as a psychiatric social worker with the elderly, the last 6.5 as Program
Supervisor . She lives in San Francisco with her cat, Big Boy, travels to
exotic places, has performed Improvisational Theatre and is a proud aunt
of big brother, Alan Alpert's 4
kids. Clay Anderson is married and has two children: a daughter, 16 and
a son, 3. He has lived and worked in Hawaii for the past 16 years. He is
trying to get back for the reunion, and would be interested in seeing some
of the Jefferson gang. Inform "Beno" that he still has an open bar tab at

paid. Kjell Anderson is a Regional Manager with 3M. He is single with three
children, two girls and a boy. He is desparately looking for a babysitter
so that he can attend Saturday's big event. Vicki Baker Riley lives in Long Beach, is married to Matt Riley (class
of '77), and has a 3 yr. old son. After graduating from CSULB, Vicki started
working at Northrop-Grumman as a software engineer and is still there today.
Vicki enjoys traveling internationally, riding her horses, and keeping in
touch with friends such as Lisa Heinz, and her son's Godmother, Elena Martinho." Ella Barakat is still in her hometown of Des Moines, Iowa, not Ohio
or Idaho but Iowa. She cautions, "We are not just a bunch of hicks. We happen
to be the 2nd largest insurance center in the world. I worked in that industry
until I recently started my own business." She was engaged but never
took the final plunge and is still a S.W.F.!!!
. Susan Beadles Hughes has been married to her husband, Keith,for ten
years and has three very wonderful boys ages 9, 7, and 2. She and her her
husband are both very busy in the real estate market, both working for Alain
Pinel Realtors. They transferred to Morgan Hill (an hour from Carmel and
an hour from San Francisco) about five years ago and love it up there. They
are also busy with their children and their activities. Susan is looking
forward to the reunion and seeing everyone! John Berg has a busy August, he is getting married the weekend following
the reunion.
. Alan Berro has been married for 9 years, has a 3 1/2 year old son,
and 3 dogs. He came back to L.A. after a 7 year stay in Boston. He received
his BA from UCLA in '82, and his MBA from Harvard in '86. Currently,
Alan manages mutual funds for The Capital Group (American Funds). He enjoys
bicycling and swimming.. Denise Berro has been teaching for 10 years. Settled in Northern
California, she enjoys traveling, nature and her family (partner, Barbara;cats,
Romaine, Sombro and Nammu; equines Buck and Annie). Barbara Blechen lives in Long Beach near Eldorado Park with her two
"kids with fur", an 8 yr. old rottweiler and a 16 yr. old cat and one "kid
with feathers", an African grey parrot. She has a BS in accounting and just
recently completed her law degree. Barbara would enjoy hearing her old
friends. Brad Bolicek graduated UCI with a BA and received his MBA from CSULB.
After working in Finance for Disney and Paramount for ten years, he
settled in Boise, Idaho with his wife and two children. Brad now owns
a restaurant/brewpub in Meridian, Idaho. His wife is budget director for
the county sheriff dept. They are involved in their Church and community. Angelique Boswell York lives in Texas with her husband Dan York (also class of '78) and their three children. Angel and Dan were engaged their senior year at Wilson. They enjoy traveling and skiing and Angelique is heavily into research and interviewing people for a book that she is writing. Melody Bowser Riggsby graduated University of Maryland with
a degree in Asian Studies. She now lives in Seoul Korea with her
husband, three children and two dogs, teaches english conversation at home
and is doing the "soccer mom" thing. She plans to resettle in the U.S.
(after spending 10+ years in Asia and Europe) sometime between now and 2002. Matt Brown received his degree in Industrial Design. He has
been happily married for 11 years to Therese. They have 2 kids a girl, age
10, and a boy, age 6 and black lab mix, Caspar. They have been living
in the bay area for just over a year and love it (east bay-north of berkeley)
where Matt manages the exterior division of a national architectural signage
company from his home and travel (a lot) and does lots of design work, too.
Dawn (Elaine) Campbell has been married for 15 years. She has
no kids but three dogs: Taz, Duke and Rebel, and a bird named T.J. Dawn
is working and living in the Long Beach area and is going back to school
to become a
paralegal.

IS Deborah Cook Tener is married with 3 children: a girl of 19, step
daughter, 12, and a son of 9. She is a nurse at Long Beach Memorial for the
past 15 years and is very involved with children and church.
Larry Conkings (aka Robert ) lives in Long Beach with his wife Nikki
and stepson Shane. He recently completed his degree in Business Administration
and is currently pursuing a career change. An avid golfer,Larry supports
Wilson High by helping run the Wilson High Alumni Invitational Golf Tournament.
This event contributes several thousand dollars per year to Wilson Athletics.
Rick Cutts graduated from USC got a MBA from the University of San
Diego. He is married and has a little girl born in June 1997. Rick works
as a money manager for Columbia Management in Portland Oregon. He still loves

Jon Danner owns his own graphic design studio in Irvine called Universal
Visions. He has been doing graphics ever since the yearbook in 1978 and was
a finalist in a world-wide digital art contest in San Francisco in 1996.
Jon and his wife, Carole, have a company called "Power of 2" and give workshops
to those in search of enlightenment in relationships. He is currently attending

Laguna Niguel. Her oldest daughter, 18, just finished her first year at UCSB,
(Yikes) and she has two younger children, 9 & 5. Fides is commited to
raising money for local, national and international charities, but her focus
in life is raising well-adjusted children. She is married to the "most wonderful,
understanding and caring man in the whole world!" Jeff Disney has been living all over the world for the past ten years,
transiting across the Pacific to New Zealand, Australia,Singapore, India
and now Japan. Lived in Africa for nearly 8 months, the Soviet Union for
about 6 months and had the pleasure of being "live" with the Berlin Wall
coming down when he worked at the Embassy in East Berlin. Jeff throughly
loves his career (although he's growing tired of the Navy) and has been an
Emergency Medicine specialist for the past 6 years. Steve Dowdy is married to Lisa Howard (also of our class). They
moved to St. Louis, 3 1/2 years ago with their two children. Steve works
at theWashington University lab, "playing Mad Scientist". He enjoys
minimal teaching responsibilities and lightning bugs.
Lori Elam Bendiksen remarried last December. She is a lawyer for the
City of Los Angeles (specializing in workers compensation defense) lives

Pete Eleopoulos has been married to his beautiful wife,Mary, for just
a year. He has been working at Queen of Angels/Hollywood Presbyterian Medical
Center as a medical technologist for the past three years. He and his
wife live near El Dorado Park and look forward to seeing everyone at the
reunion. Tom Fadgen graduated CSULB with a degree in Computer Information
Systems. He has been involved in various aspects of computer sales
and marketing and is currently involved in selling computer network services.
Tom is married to Christine Azurin (Wilson Class of 1980) and has 3
boys and a girl. Sports are watched but mostly it's cartoons.
Jose Fernandez married Lin Briney, formerly an elementary
school teacher but now a most excellent wife and stay-at-home mom. They have
three boys ages 15, 8, and 6. He spends most of his days and almost all of
his nights in the basement of their home in Chino Hills, CA, writing (and
fixing) code for a small software company in Novato, CA. Being a full-time
telecommuter also gives him the flexibility to participate in family and
church "stuff". Having been a PACE emigrant, Jose is especially curious about
the Rogers contingent of the class of '78. Jose can be contacted via
Scott Forman, an Orthopedic Surgeon, lives in Newport with his wife,
Margie and two daughters, ages 6 and 4. Following his residency
at Columbia, Scott did a fellowship in Sports Medicine with the Ballerina
Docter for the New York City Ballet. He has also covered Wilson football

trial for Total Ankle replacement and is in YMCA Indian Princesses with his
daughters.
Leslie Frame Grayson is married and the mother of four boys, ages
17, 12, 9 and 5. After graduating from Cal State Long Beach with a degree
in commercial art, she has lived in Japan and California. She moved to Colorado
about 5 years ago and is currently a full time Mom, running day care from

Mark Fraser is married to a wonderful wife ,Linda, who is from Virginia
Beach, Virginia. They have four children ages 11,8,3 and 16 months. He am
looking forward to seeing everyone. Friday night is a maybe, Saturday night

spent three years in the Republic of Palau, an island nation in the western
Pacific, working as the Environmental Attorney for the EPA office. One year
was spent doing private environmental work and working for other government
agencies. Presently, she works mostly with developers to clean up contaminated
properties before redevelopment and helps allocate and limit environmental
risks and liabilities. Paul Gallagher runs the Commercial Real Estate Investment group for
Latin America for GE Capital. He and his wife, Patti Vengoechea, have been
marrie for nearly 15 years and live in Mexico City with their 3 children. Dan Galovan has been working as a software engineer at Hughes/Raytheon
since graduating from UCI. Lately, he has been developing Air Traffic
Control systems. Dan lives in Mission Viejo with his wife, Robin, and their

She worked for Disney entertainment for about 7 1/2 yrs, and left after bad
dance injury. She moved into real estate, finance, and business before
going back for her teaching credential. Karyss now teaches 3rd grade in Long
Beach, as well as a fine arts and dance program. She is divorced and

education to drive her three children from activity to activity. Oldest son
is now a sophmore at Wilson High School and she is amazed at how fast one
can go from a student at Wilson to a member of the Booster Club! One shouldn't

on her computer! Want to take a chance? Then Dan Green and his wife, Stephanie will celebrate their 15th anniversary
the week before the reunion. They have 2 beautiful daughters ages,
7 and 2. He earned his bachelors degree in Financial Management and Marketing
from CSULB and works as a Material Planner in the Silicon Valley . Dan is
actively pursuing work in San Diego as he has had enough cold water
surfing!
Lisa Greenberg is most proud of being part of a team that brought
an anti-Aids drug to the market. She works as a Statistical Programmer
Analyst at Agouron Pharmaceuticals in the San Diego area. Brenda Griffin-Slayter lives in Elkhart, Indiana with her husband
John and 2 children: a boy(11) and a girl (7 ). After moving from California
6 years ago, she vows she will never move back. Brenda and her family enjoy
the family oriented lifestyle that the midwest has to offer. Besides working
part time at Elkhart General Hospital, Brenda enjoys traveling, shopping(that
hasn't changed!), and spending time with family. Melissa "Missy" Griffith Magrath lives in Irvine, CA with her husband
of seven years. Ric was a professional sailor when they married so they traveled
a lot the first few years. Melissa is working in Costa Mesa as a skin care
therapist at a day spa and is looking forward to starting a family this
year...hopes it's not too late! "And do I have the energy required for a

classmates. Marni Grossgold Kelsey graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with
a BA in Liberal Studies, an MS in Agriculture and three teaching
credentials. She founded and administrates a one room high school in
Yosemite National Park. She's been married 5 wonderful years with a 3 yr
old son and one year old daughter and 12 yr old step son. She has guided
horse tours and pack trips for 12 years and lives 200 yards from Yosemite
Falls and loves it. Mr. Sandberg was Marni's inspiration to become a teacher
and She prays that she can become one tenth of the teacher that he was. Sheri Hanson is living in Lakewood with her bird and turtle.

expecting their first child in April '98. Bill is the Loss control
Manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Orange county and in his spare time

for Paramount Pictures for 13 years. She is now Senior VP of Motion Picture
Marketing. Married for 9 years, Leslie is the mother of twin
boys. Lisa Heinz Kauffman Lisa Heinz Kauffman is married to Eric Kauffman,
and they have two young boys. The family recently moved to Boise, Idaho and
Lisa has been getting the family settled in their new neighborhood. No plans
to return to the work force at this time! Lisa is the team mom for soccer,
and is still actively involved in anything that has to do with the animal
kingdom. She is still horseback riding and is currently riding reining
performance horses. The boys take after her in their love for animals, snakes,
and lizards and it seems there is always something on the loose in the Kauffman

Long Beach to his job in Burbank, as well as ...Orlando and Paris!!!
Jacqueline Hopton Westby has been married for 15 years to Dane (alumni
'77) and has two wonderful children: a daughter 13,(soon heading to Wilson)
and a son, 9. She is a stay at home mom contemplating going back to work

supervisor. He has been married for 18 years, has two boys, ages 9

caps! Lisa Howard Dowdy is the computer manager for the Center for Clinical
Studies at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. She is married to
Steve Dowdy (also from our class). They have two children: a boy, 9
and a girl, 7.

field for the last 20 years. His first job (where he worked for ten years)
was obtained through Mr. Menke at Wilson. He is now part owner of Southern
California Boiler in Huntington Beach. Pat is also involved in racing
...Moto Cross , Quads and Jetski's since his HS days. He is currently

Maria Kaiser - Shillcock (aka Mia) has been working as a
EngineeringConfiguration Analyst for the past 16 years and is still not sure
what she wants to be when she grows up. She is married, has no kids,

Company for 15 years and was recently transferred to Boise, Idaho. He is
married to Lisa Heinz Kauffman, and they have two young sons, 6 1/2 yrs,
and 4 years. Eric and Lisa have just finished building their dream home and
really enjoy the outdoor activities that Idaho has to offer. The family enjoys
camping, snow and water skiing, biking, and traveling. And yes, he still
tries to golf each week! Carol Kinzer Jennings is in the process of moving to Colorado with
her family (she now has three children ages 7, 5, and 2) and is disappointed

Kristi Kucera Rosenberg is living in Portland, Oregon where
she is a Title I reading and math teacher for grades 1-5 in an inner city
school. She received her BA from CalPoly SLO in Recreation Administration
and her Masters in Teaching in 1997. She was a Program Director/Interim Executive
Director for the YMCA for five years. She was married to a Navy pilot and
lived in the Philippines for three years as well as various other exotic
places. Now divorced, Kristi is the mother of two wonderful children ages

Sue Lafferty is happily riding horses in Santa Barbara...and the
wildflowers are spectacular this year! Sue Lafferty actually does more than
just ride horses in Santa Barbara. She does have a wonderful career as a
science educator, specializing in informal education with a master's degree
from USC. She has spent the last 12 years in natural history museums, developing
education programs, curricula and exhibits. She has conducted both scientific
and educational research and has traveled to far-flung places like the Lofoten
Islands in Norway to study killer whales, and South Central LA to study high
school students. However she still prefers riding horses to just about anything.
No kids, but has a beau named Michael and various critters around the house.
Simone LaPay is a licensed Marriage, Family and Child Counselor in
Northern California. She coaches women's water polo and teaches at CSU Hayward
where she is a full-time faculty member in the Physical Education
Department. Women's water polo just made it into the Olympics and Simone
is trying out for the Women's National Team in May. She is also applying
for Doctorate Programs in Organizational Psychology. Simone is a self described
workaholic! Ron Leao is married and has several children. He works as an Area
Sales Manager for Korean Air. Dan Lefler has a 9 year old daughter, runs a music library on the
web, still swims, and is a performing musician (with some CD's out). He

in the IT Center as the Workstation Support Manager. He still plays the Tuba. Debbie Light Bendzinski has been married for 13 years and has two
children, a boy, 10 years old and a girl,7 years old. She is a Neurodiagnostic
technologist (working with the nervous system, brainwaves, etc..) at a Washington
hospital. Bob Lindgren lives in San Clemente with his fiancé, Shelby
and her daughter, Alix.. They are getting married one month after the reunion.

Tammy List Connors lives in Cypress with her husband and two
children: a girl (6) and a boy (4). Busy with soccer, Brownies and Awana's,
she is also a parent volunteer at both children's schools. Tammy is also

Bill Lobdell is the editor of 10 Southern California newspapers and
a visiting professor at UCI. He's married to Greer and they have three young

(San Luis Obispo County), and has been married to Michael Wiechmann, a
cardiologist, for 8 years. They have two "furry children", dogs Jake and

Riley and Matt
Riley. Sean McCabe is living in Costa Mesa and has been married for 4 years
to Melissa, a registerd Nurse. They have a three year old boy. Sean
has been working as a structural steel building inspector for the past 9
years. He is still surfing, and has been competing in the seniors division
(ouch!) of the U.S. Surfing Federation, and has won or placed in every contest,
and will most likely qualify for the U.S. Amatuer championships in June.

Carlyn Morenus recently finished her doctorate down in the wilds of
Texas, and is now Assistant Professor of Piano at Illinois State University
in exciting Bloomington-Normal, IL. Yes, things are 'back to Normal,' as

with cats Whimsy and Tigger, so you might want to wait until next year to

house. Holly Moskowitz Goldstone lives in Sunset Beach, CA with her
husband Bob (a physician and corporate vice president) and her two year old

4 years (and was there during the Tiananmen Massacre). Amelia currently

related economic development and consulting work and will be teaching
economics and finance at UC Berkeley beginning this summer. Scott Pritchard is a Lab Manager at Boeing, adopted a kid (Gary) who
turned 18 June 1st. He still lives in Long Beach and looks forward to hearing
from some of the 78 class. Martha Rice Donahue has been married for 16 years to Tom, they have
a daughter who is 14. They live in Long Beach where she enjoys the
family life and being a mom. (Which includes driving her child around to

HERE Steven Schild and his wife, Chris have three boys, 2 parrots, 2 dogs,
and fish. He received an MD. from Creighton University (his wife went
to the law school). They moved to Rochester Mn, where he trained in radiation
oncology at Mayo Clinic. Steve worked for a few years at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville
and then settled in Scottsdale five years ago. He finds Scottsdale nice but
dislikes the hot dry heat , "like a toaster". Randy Scoville is the Corporate Controller at Certified Grocers of
California (in Commerce) and the CFO of Grocers and Merchants Insurance company

hurry? Rocky Shaw is the Chief Deputy Coroner of San Bernardino County Coroner's
Department. He received his education at U.C.L.A., St. Louis University Of
Medicine, Orange County Sheriff's Academy, and the F.B.I. Academy in Virginia.
Rocky is getting married in July and will be returning home from his Honeymoon

a one year Assistant Scoutmaster in the BSA and is also a travel agent in

Wireman (retirement in the next few years is inevitable). He has also ran

His current endeavors include ownership of a specialty retail store in Long
Beach called Hempestree - An Earth Friendly Store that specializes in Industrial
Hemp and Organic Cotton clothing & accessories, and a myriad of other
products made from these natural resources. Ron is single following the end
of a nine year marriage and is the proud father of three. He can still jam
on the
harmonica! Dan York graduated from CSULB and worked as a sports writer for the
LA Times before attending law school. He was an attorney at an LA-based law
firm between 1988 and 1995. Dan was asked to join the Legal Department of
GTE Corporation at its Stamford, Connecticut headquarters in March 1995,
where he specialized in antitrust, litigation and environmental law. He is
still in the GTE Legal Department (now in Irving, Texas), and wondering whether
GTE's pending merger with Bell Atlantic will require that he and
wife, Angelique Boswell (class of '78) and three children move back to the
Northeast again in a year.
Scott Zucker is living in Laguna Beach and enjoying his work as a
Landscape Architect. Unfortunately, no more acting for Scott. He
